Exhaustion from a stock suggestion
Meanwhile they’re flying off the shelf
I’ve only got one mind with one eye
Interference can’t be helped
I woke up zoomed in on the problem
As bill collectors slithered past
Retreated for a birds eye view
Found aspirations that won’t last
My past a stove that I left running
When I took a train downtown
Realized it under the East River
Power surge, service down
The man beside me was a Buddhist
He said “don’t feed the mind’s cabal”
But I’m a child of computers
Let me unplug it from the wall
Exhaustion from a stock suggestion
To sign a non aggression pact
I cut a deal with my creator
He raised the vig and i got jack
He said he’s running deals all season
And come back when I’m in a bind
But I’ll be careful what I tell him
Cuz he won’t let me change my mind
My past a stove that I left running
When I took a train downtown
Realized it under the East River
Power surge, service down
The man beside me was a Buddhist
He said “don’t feed the mind’s cabal”
But I’m a child of computers
Let me unplug it from the wall
Been following Somos for many years, feeling that they had an opus in them...well, here it is. Driving pop-punk sensibilities lend an upbeat tone in contrast to the grim lyrical proceedings, and they absolutely pull it off. Evocative music that's been on repeat for me all month long. RIP, Phil PaintedDogs
A friend with a reliably fine musical taste posted this album on FB and I wasn't disappointed. Love the guitar sound and the passionate vocals (melodic enough to not pass as screamo or whatever). Punk rock spirit yet with a lot of dynamics (definitely a yes to the Dischord reference) and compact songs that won't leave your head for a long time. Many many
great tunes on here but for the moment USMA and Lay Low have to be my favorites! Great band, very happy to have found them! perpendikel
Taking cues from Midwestern emo and early ’10 pop punk, this Leeds, UK outfit are full of heart— not to mention hooks. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 21, 2022
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
